About Bill Bachman

About Bill

Bill Bachman is a world-renowned specialist in hand technique with a heavy background in rudimental drumming and its application to the drumset.

He is the founder of the hand technique site drumworkout.com which made Modern Drummer magazine’s Top 6 online resources list, author of the books Stick Technique and Rhythm & Chops Builders, and the “Logic” book series for RowLoff.com which has become part of the curriculum in many schools and universities. Bill designed Vic Firth’s Heavy Hitter pad series and his signature drumsticks and has twice been nominated in Modern Drummer magazine’s annual readers poll, as an educator and for his book Rhythm & Chops Builders.

He earned a B.M. from Berklee College of Music, studied at the University of North Texas and has played with and taught many award-winning marching percussion groups, including the UNT drumline and the Cadets, Bluecoats, Blue Knights and Carolina Crown drum & bugle corps.

Behind the drumset Bill is the drummer for Herd of Instinct, Spoke of Shadows, has toured with progressive rock artist Neal Morse, is on recordings with Trey Gunn (King Crimson), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Adam Holzman (Miles Davis & Steven Wilson), Gerald Albright (Grammy award winning saxophonist), and gigs locally on a regular basis. He’s performed at clinics and drum festivals on five continents and teaches at Marcus and Flower Mound High Schools along with offering online lessons globally.
